About LockLocal

A clearer way to choose an independent locksmith

LockLocal is an independent UK locksmith directory. We help you describe your problem, compare local locksmiths who fit, and get in touch with one directly. We do not choose for you, set the price, or take payment.

Why LockLocal exists

Finding a locksmith is stressful, and it is worst when you are locked out and have to decide in a hurry. It is hard to tell who is genuinely local, who is qualified, and who will quote a fair price once they arrive. LockLocal lays out that information in one place so you can weigh it up calmly, whether it is an emergency or work you are planning.

A directory, not a call centre

We are not a national call centre and not an emergency line. We do not pick a locksmith for you, dispatch anyone, set the final price, or take payment for the work. You decide who to contact from the profiles we show, and you call, message or book them yourself. Any quote, arrangement and payment is directly between you and the locksmith you choose.

What “verified” means

Each profile keeps two things apart: what the locksmith tells us, and what we have been able to verify ourselves. Verified details appear as badges such as DBS checked, insured and years of experience — each one backed by evidence we have seen. That evidence covers the specific claim, not the quality of the work, availability or the price on the day, so confirm those with the locksmith when you call.

How we stay independent

Ordinary results are ordered by how well a locksmith fits your problem and how solid the evidence behind their claims is, not by who pays us. A locksmith can pay for a clearly labelled sponsored spot, and that is how the directory is funded. Paying cannot change a locksmith's position in the ordinary results, create a verified badge, or make an existing one stronger. Sponsorship buys a label, never verification.

Putting things right

If a profile is wrong, a detail is out of date, or a result does not make sense, we want to know. Send us the page, the locksmith's name and the claim you are questioning, and we will look into that specific issue and correct, remove or relabel it where we need to. Locksmiths can do the same to claim or fix their own profile.
